We were joking btw. I would never drive that far for Atomic_Legie to kick my ass. Unless he would pay for my gas at Odessa. |

I don't believe that's allowed.

Someone was recently heavily banned for seriously threatening another
From now on I won’t even accept it as a joke. If the poster is being serious they will be banned, if it even just a joke the post will be deleted |

Back to Lilljgren. If this guy can't lock down a 7th spot in his 5th year as a pro, it's time to move past this guy. |

There’s no cap space for a 7th d man
Their 13 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies only leave $80K in cap space |

Why are we in such a rush to push our young dmen into the lineup, and even quicker to send them packing?
Dmen take a while….(it’s a tough league) |

Far better for him to be a top pairing d-man for the marlies than be sitting in a suit watching games all the time as well.
It’s also a team that considers themselves cup contenders which means don’t expect many rookies playing in the lineup |

5th year is "rushing" him??
I think an evaluation is in order at this point.
What does this guy do well? Yes indeed it's a tough league. Five years in and a first round pick can't take a spot from Travis Dermott?
Maybe he's just not good enough. |

The Leafs also could be without their biggest star, as center Auston Matthews indicated on Thursday that he is hopeful to be ready for the home opener after missing the entire preseason recovering from offseason wrist surgery. - mikeinbuffalo
Kind of pessimistic take you've taken here, no? |

I also think it's because of lack the of cap space and his waiver exemption. |

We certainly haven't done this with Lilljgren. It's his 5th year, job wide open, and he can't take it.
What I'm saying is, stop thinking this guy is going to develop into a significant NHL dman. |

A team that considers themselves cup contenders would never want two rookie d men
It’s really that bloody simple |

I can see Mikheyev being dealt for picks or prospects, and the leafs keeping Semyonov, whom is 800k cheaper on the cap. And might be as good, or better, semyonov looked good on the PK.
Maybe he is dealt before opening night. |

A team that considers itself a cup contender wouldn't have Lilljgren as their 7th defencemen. Who needs depth on the back end to win a Cup, anyway? |

There really wasn't a job for him as I believe management had there minds made up already prior to camp who would be there top 6 d-men.
He'll be the first to be called if a d-man is required.
What's your definition of a significant NHL dman? |

Wait, wait, wait.
Keefe has just given us a definitive statement on Liljegren:
David Alter
@dalter
Keefe on Liljegren: "Lily's an important guy for us in the organization and we've said that for a long time and I'm happy how he's progressed. "

Even tho you continue to ignore me they don’t have the cap space for a 7th d man and they’d rather have him playing top pairing minutes anyways.
Believe me if they could afford a 7th d man it wouldn’t be him, they don’t want a top end 22 year old player sitting most of the season |

They like him, and they’re propping his known value up before they send him back to the marlies so people don’t think it’s because he sucks (because he doesn’t)

He was also playing top pairing minutes with Sandin on the Marlies so we could potentially that pairing with the big club at some point. |
